Biography

Milton Marx, known as Gummo, was born in Manhattan in 1893 and worked as a vaudeville performer, theatrical agent, and businessman. He performed with his brothers on the vaudeville circuit until his draft into the US Army in 1918 during World War I, at which point his brother Zeppo replaced him in the act. He did not appear in any of his brothers' films and became a successful businessman. He died in 1977.
