Biography
Immanuel Wallerstein was born in New York City in 1930 and died in 2019. He worked as a sociologist, economic historian, and analyst of geopolitical affairs. At Yale University, where he served as a Senior Research Scholar from 2000 until his death, he developed the world-systems approach in sociology. From October 1998 to July 2019, he published bimonthly commentaries on world affairs through Agence Global.
