Biography
Isamu Noguchi was born in Los Angeles in 1904 and worked across six decades beginning in the 1920s as a sculptor, furniture designer, landscape architect, and painter. He designed stage sets for Martha Graham productions, created Akari light sculptures, and produced furniture pieces that continue to be manufactured. His work appears in the Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum in New York City and in numerous other museums.
