Jason William Mizell, known professionally as Jam Master Jay, was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1965 and died in 2002. He worked as a beatboxer, rapper, record producer, and disc jockey. Mizell served as the DJ for Run-DMC. In 2009, he was inducted posthumously into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Run-DMC.
