James Emil Coco was born in New York City on March 2, 1930, and worked as a stage and screen actor as well as a musician. He received a Primetime Emmy Award, a Drama Desk Award, a Cable ACE Award, and three Obie Awards, and was nominated for a Tony Award, an Academy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards. He appeared in supporting roles in Man of La Mancha (1972), Murder by Death (1976), and Only When I Laugh (1981). He died on February 25, 1987.
