Biography
James Dunn was born in New York City in 1901 and worked as an actor on stage, in film, and on television. He performed in vaudeville and worked as an extra in short films made by Paramount Pictures at its Long Island studio, while also appearing with stock theater companies. He played the male lead in the 1929 Broadway musical Sweet Adeline, a role that led Fox Film to sign him to a Hollywood contract in 1931. He died in 1967.
