Jimmy Dorsey was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania in 1904 and died in 1957. A jazz clarinetist and saxophonist, he led a big band and recorded numerous standards including "I'm Glad There Is You" and "It's the Dreamer in Me". He played clarinet on "Singin' the Blues" in 1927 and on the original 1930 recording of "Georgia on My Mind", both later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
