Jimmy McLane was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1930 and died in 2020. He competed as a swimmer for Yale University and won three Olympic gold medals: two during his peak years from 1945 to 1948 and a third in the 4x200 meter freestyle relay at the 1952 Olympics. He also held a world record and won thirteen national championships.
