Biography
Joey Bishop was born Joseph Abraham Gottlieb in The Bronx on February 3, 1918, and became an entertainer who worked as a talk show host, actor, comedian, and writer. He appeared on television starting in 1948 and later starred in his own weekly comedy series as a talk and variety show host before hosting a late-night talk show on ABC with Regis Philbin as sidekick. He was a member of the Rat Pack alongside Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Peter Lawford. He died on October 17, 2007.
