Biography
John Pemberton was born in Knoxville, Georgia in 1831 and worked in the pharmaceutical industry as an inventor and businessperson. On May 8, 1886, he developed an early version of a beverage that would later become Coca-Cola, and sold the rights to Asa Griggs Candler for roughly 2,300 dollars before his death in 1888.
