Biography
June Lockhart was born in New York City on June 25, 1925, and worked as a film, television, and stage actor. She began her film career in the 1930s and 1940s, appearing in A Christmas Carol and Meet Me in St. Louis, then worked primarily in television and on stage during the 1950s and 1960s. She became widely known for playing mother roles on the television series Lassie and Lost in Space, and portrayed Dr. Janet Craig on the CBS sitcom Petticoat Junction from 1968 to 1970. She received two Emmy Award nominations and won a Tony Award, with a career spanning nearly 90 years until her death on October 23, 2025.
