Kate Wilhelm was an American author born in Toledo, Ohio in 1928 who wrote novels and stories in the science fiction, mystery, and suspense genres. Her novel Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang won the Hugo Award. Wilhelm established the Clarion Workshop along with her husband Damon Knight and writer Robin Scott Wilson. She died in 2018.
