Kathleen Freeman was born in Chicago on February 17, 1919, and died on August 23, 2001. Over a career spanning more than 50 years, she worked as a film, television, stage, and voice actor, as well as a film producer. She frequently played maids, secretaries, teachers, busybodies, nurses, and neighbors and relatives, typically in comic roles. She appeared in 12 Jerry Lewis comedies during the 1950s and 1960s and in The Blues Brothers (1980).
