Biography
Kenneth Howard Norton Sr. was born on August 9, 1943, in Jacksonville, Illinois. A boxer and actor, he competed professionally in boxing from 1967 to 1981, and was awarded the WBC world heavyweight championship in 1978 following a split decision victory over Jimmy Young in a title eliminator bout. He died on September 18, 2013.
