Biography
Kenneth Bainbridge was an American physicist born in Cooperstown, New York in 1904. At Harvard University, he conducted cyclotron research and made precise measurements of mass differences between nuclear isotopes that confirmed Einstein's mass–energy equivalence concept. He served as Director of the Manhattan Project's Trinity nuclear test on July 16, 1945, and afterward became dedicated to ending nuclear weapons testing and ensuring civilian control over future nuclear developments.
