Kevin Mitnick was born in Van Nuys, California in 1963. He worked as a computer security consultant, author, and hacker. In 1995 he was arrested for computer and communications-related crimes, convicted of fraud and illegally intercepting communications, and imprisoned for five years. After his release, he operated Mitnick Security Consulting, LLC and worked in other computer security businesses. He died in 2023.
