Michael Emmet Walsh was an American actor born in Ogdensburg, New York in 1935 who appeared in over 200 films and television series. His film roles included Earl Frank in Straight Time, the Madman in The Jerk, Captain Bryant in Blade Runner, Harv in Critters, and Walt Scheel in Christmas with the Kranks. He played private detective Loren Visser in Blood Simple, the Coen brothers' first film, and won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead for that role. He died in 2024.
