Malcolm Stevenson Forbes was born in Englewood, New Jersey in 1919 and died in 1990. He served in the New Jersey Senate representing Somerset County from 1952 to 1958 and ran for Governor of New Jersey twice, losing the Republican nomination in 1953 and the general election in 1957. As publisher of Forbes magazine, which his father B. C. Forbes had founded, he promoted capitalism and free market economics, while maintaining an extravagant lifestyle that included homes, yachts, aircraft, art, motorcycles, and Fabergé eggs.
