Marshall Rosenberg was a psychologist, mediator, and writer born in Canton, Ohio in 1934. Starting in the early 1960s, he developed nonviolent communication, a process for supporting partnership and resolving conflict within people, relationships, and society. In 1984 he founded the Center for Nonviolent Communication, an international nonprofit organization where he served as Director of Educational Services. He worked worldwide as a peacemaker until his death in 2015.
