McLean Stevenson was born in Normal, Illinois on November 14, 1927, and died on February 15, 1996. He worked as a television and film actor, screenwriter, and in other capacities. He played Lieutenant Colonel Henry Blake in the television series M*A*S*H, a role for which he received a Golden Globe Award in 1974. He also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, The Doris Day Show, and Match Game.
