Mindy McCready was born in Fort Myers, Florida in 1975. Active as a country music singer from 1995, she recorded five studio albums across her career. Her debut album Ten Thousand Angels, released in 1996 on BNA Records, was certified 2× Platinum by the RIAA, and her follow-up If I Don't Stay the Night from 1997 achieved Gold certification. She released I'm Still Here in March 2010 on Iconic Records as her final studio album before her death in 2013.
