Mitchell William Miller was born in Rochester, New York in 1911 and died in 2010. He worked as an oboist, conductor, record producer, and recording artist. Miller studied at the Eastman School of Music in the early 1930s and began his career as a player of oboe and English horn, recording both classical and popular music. He served as head of artists and repertoire at Columbia Records and hosted the NBC television series Sing Along with Mitch, achieving chart success with his albums in Canada between 1959 and 1962.
