William Fitzgerald Jenkins, who wrote under the pen name Murray Leinster, was an American science fiction writer who produced more than 1,500 short stories and articles. Born in Virginia in 1896, he worked as a novelist, screenwriter, and inventor across his career. He died in 1975.
