Naya Rivera was born on January 12, 1987, in Valencia, California. She worked as a film and television actor, model, singer, and child actor, beginning her career in national television commercials before landing the role of Hillary Winston on the CBS sitcom The Royal Family at age four, which earned her a Young Artist Award nomination at age five. She appeared in recurring and guest television roles as a teenager before achieving her breakthrough in 2009 as Santana Lopez on the Fox series Glee, for which she received critical acclaim and awards including a SAG Award and ALMA Award, as well as Grammy and Brit Award nominations with her castmates. She died on July 8, 2020.
