Biography
Noah Lindsey Beery Jr. was born in New York City in 1913 and worked as a film and television actor for more than fifty years. He became known for the role of Joseph "Rocky" Rockford, father to James Garner's character in the NBC series The Rockford Files, which ran from 1974 to 1980. His uncle Wallace Beery won an Oscar, and his father Noah Beery also had a long career in supporting roles, though the elder Beery sometimes played leading parts during the silent film era. He died in 1994.
