Biography
Norman Borlaug was born on March 25, 1914, in Cresco, Iowa. He worked as an agronomist, geneticist, forestry engineer, and engineer, leading initiatives worldwide that contributed to extensive increases in agricultural production called the Green Revolution. He received the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Congressional Gold Medal, making him one of only seven people to have received all three awards. He died on September 12, 2009.
