Patricia Joan Keller McCormick was born in Seal Beach, California on May 12, 1930, and died on March 7, 2023. A competitive diver and swimmer, she won both diving events at the 1952 and 1956 Summer Olympics. In 1956 she received the James E. Sullivan Award for best amateur athlete in the United States, becoming the second woman to receive this honour after Ann Curtis.
