Biography
Peter Falk was born in New York City in 1927 and worked as an actor in television, film, and on stage, as well as a director, producer, and screenwriter. He played Lieutenant Columbo on the NBC/ABC series Columbo, winning four Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award in 1973 for the role. TV Guide ranked him No. 21 on its 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time list in 1996. He died in 2011.
