Biography

Raymond Victor Franz was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1922 and died in 2010. He served as a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses from October 1971 until his removal in May 1980, and worked at the organization's headquarters for fifteen years beginning in 1965. Following his removal, which he attributed to allegations of apostasy, Franz wrote two books describing his experiences with the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society and presenting his views on Jehovah's Witnesses teachings.
