Biography
Richard McKay Rorty was born in New York City in 1931 and died in 2007. He studied at the University of Chicago and Yale University, then held professorships at Princeton University, the University of Virginia, and Stanford University. He wrote Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature (1979), Consequences of Pragmatism (1982), and Contingency, Irony, and Solidarity (1989).
