Biography

Robert Moog was born in New York City in 1934 and worked as a musical instrument maker, inventor, and musician. He founded Moog Music and invented the Moog synthesizer, which became available commercially in 1964. In 1970 he released the Minimoog, a more portable version of the synthesizer. Moog received a Technical Grammy Award in 2002 and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
