A singer, songwriter, and musician, he served as lead vocalist for Stone Temple Pilots across two periods: 1989 to 2003 and 2008 to 2013, during which the band recorded six albums. He fronted Velvet Revolver from 2003 to 2008 and released one album with Art of Anarchy in 2015, in addition to four solo studio albums and various collaborations.
