Stella Stevens was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, in 1938 and worked as an actress, screenwriter, producer, director, and model. She began her acting career in 1959 in the musical Say One for Me, for which she won the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year – Actress. She went on to appear in films including Girls! Girls! Girls!, The Nutty Professor, How to Save a Marriage and Ruin Your Life, The Ballad of Cable Hogue, and The Poseidon Adventure. She died in 2023.
