Biography

Tori Bowie was born on August 27, 1990, in Sand Hill, Mississippi, and competed as a long jumper and sprinter in track and field. She won silver in the 100 meters and bronze in the 200 meters at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and earned bronze in the 100 meters at the 2015 World Championships and gold at the 2017 World Championships. Bowie also won gold medals as part of the U.S. women's 4 × 100 meters relay team at the 2016 Olympics and 2017 World Championships. She died on April 23, 2023.
