Biography
Veronica Lake was born Constance Frances Marie Ockelman in Brooklyn, New York, on November 14, 1922. She worked as a film, stage, and television actress, as well as a model and aircraft pilot. Lake appeared in films including Sullivan's Travels and I Married a Witch during the 1940s, and her career declined by the late 1940s in part due to alcoholism. She made one film in the 1950s and guest appearances on television, returned to film in Footsteps in the Snow in 1966, and died on July 7, 1973.
