Wes Unseld was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1946 and worked as a basketball player, coach, and sports executive. He played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals before being selected second overall in the 1968 NBA draft by the Baltimore Bullets, with whom he spent his entire NBA career. During his rookie season he won both the NBA Most Valuable Player award and the NBA Rookie of the Year award, matching an accomplishment shared only with Wilt Chamberlain. He won an NBA championship with the Bullets in 1978 and was named Finals MVP for that championship.
