Biography

Winston Groom was born in Washington, D.C. in 1943 and worked as a novelist, historian, and writer. He wrote Forrest Gump, published in 1986, which was adapted into a film directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks. Following the film's release, his novel sold more than one million copies worldwide. Groom also wrote Gump & Co., published in 1995, and El Paso, published in 2016.
