The Battle

History & Significance

John de Vere Earl of Oxford was one of the key Lancastrian commanders who travelled to France and participated in Warwick's negotiations with Louis XI for the Lancastrian-Warwick alliance. His expertise in military organisation contributed to the planning of the Readeption landing. Oxford subsequently commanded at Barnet where his attack on his own side contributed to Warwick's defeat.
