The Battle

History & Significance

MacLeod and MacDonald forces clashed at Harlosh on Skye as the two clans contested the boundary between their respective Skye territories in the Bracadale area. The Harlosh encounter was one of many skirmishes that maintained the uneasy division of Skye between the MacLeod north and west and the MacDonald south and east. Control of Bracadale with its sheltered loch was particularly contested.
