History & Significance

One of many conflicts between the MacDonalds of Sleat and the MacLeods of Dunvegan over grazing rights in Skye. The MacDonalds caught a MacLeod force in open ground and destroyed it. The location "Blàr Buidhe" (yellow field) appears in clan tradition as a site of MacLeod defeat.
