The Battle

History & Significance

The Earl of Warwick and the Duke of Clarence landed at Dartmouth in Devon on 13 September 1470 with a Franco-Lancastrian force assembled in Normandy. The landing initiated the Readeption of Henry VI. Edward IV, facing simultaneous risings in the north engineered by Warwick, was unable to concentrate forces in time.
