Áscall mac Ragnaill returned from the Hebrides with a Norse fleet and attacked Dublin. Miles de Cogan led a sally from the city gates and routed the Norse. Áscall was captured and beheaded. This ended Norse attempts to retake Dublin and sealed Norman control of the city.
