The Battle

History & Significance

Often considered the final battle of the Wars of the Roses. Lambert Simnel — a pretender claiming to be Edward, Earl of Warwick — was backed by Irish and German mercenaries and the Earl of Lincoln. The rebel army was destroyed; Lincoln was killed. Simnel himself was captured and pardoned, working as a servant in Henry VII's kitchen for the rest of his life.
