History & Significance

English patrols attempted to locate and capture Owain Glyndwr in the hills of Radnorshire and Breconshire. Glyndwr had refused the royal pardon offered in 1415; English forces scoured the uplands but he was never found. His fate remains unknown. Armed bands of his supporters were encountered and dispersed in the hills above the Wye.
