The Battle

History & Significance

The battle that changed English history. Richard III charged directly toward Henry Tudor and was surrounded and killed — the last English king to die in battle. The crown was found under a hawthorn bush and placed on Henry's head. Richard's skeleton, discovered under a Leicester car park in 2012, confirmed he had scoliosis. The last Plantagenet king was buried with no grave marker for 500 years.
