The Battle

History & Significance

English forces retake control of Anglesey which had been under Welsh pressure since 1403. The island granary of Gwynedd is secured for English use. Without Anglesey grain, Snowdonia cannot sustain a large Welsh army and Glyndwr strategic position is weakened. The recovery is part of a broader English counter-offensive in 1405.
