The Battle

History & Significance

The Campbells extended their territory eastward into Glenorchy and the Orchy basin in the late fourteenth century, establishing the branch that would become the Campbells of Glenorchy and eventually the Earls of Breadalbane. The Glenorchy expansion gave Campbell access to the central Highlands from their Argyll base and created a new frontier with the MacGregor and MacNab clans.
