History & Significance

During Warwick's Readeption landing in 1470 the Mowbray and local Norfolk gentry mobilised in support. The county had been divided between Warwick and Mowbray loyalties and provided recruits for the Lancastrian restoration. The Paston letters document the military activity in Norfolk during this period.
