History & Significance

The Marquess of Dorset and other former Woodville allies attempted to raise Wiltshire at Salisbury in October 1483 as part of the coordinated Buckingham rebellion. The rising collapsed quickly and Dorset eventually escaped abroad to join Tudor in Brittany.
