History & Significance

Glyndwr besieges and captures the English administrative centre of Carmarthen, the most important town in south Wales. The fall of Carmarthen gives Glyndwr control of much of southwest Wales and a propaganda victory of enormous significance. He now controls a territory resembling an independent Welsh state.
